Is there an area of your life where you can’t seem to make any progress?
Something you’ve been trying to do in various forms for some time now but it’s just not happening?
You keep spinning around in the same cycle unable to find a way out?
Most of us have at least one area like this. Some of us have more than we’d like.
One of these areas for me, I talked about the last series of emails: maintaining my ‘normal’ weight range. None of the various diets or programs I did gave me lasting results. I kept trying new versions of the same thing.
One of my favorite Einstein quotes* goes something like this: We can’t solve our problems using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
When I had a new understanding of how cravings work + why we have them, I had exactly the new kind of thinking that resulted in a new solution that has enabled me to get different results.
Results that are far more satisfying and long-lasting than giving in to any craving.
With virtually no effort at all.
What is getting in the way of your progress?
Without knowing your personal situation, I can only guess. But if you have anything that you excessively use to distract yourself from feeling bad, I can say that this is a very good place to look.
Besides the array of commonly known addictions such as alcohol + drugs, you can also include busyness+ overworking as well a obsessive mental habits like worry, fear + my all time favorite, procrastination.
You only want to feel better…but none of these, done in excess, contribute to your overall health and wellbeing.
Unless you get to a new place of understanding, you’ll keep getting stuck in the same cycle of trying to make a change and then relapsing, of not getting where you want to go and being eternally frustrated, if not worse.
